Review of the Leipzig Book Fair 2025
Four intense days full of books, encounters and team spirit
For us as a group of companies, the Leipzig Book Fair is an integral part of spring - and yet it is special every year. In 2025, it was once again a place of encounters, discussions and many small highlights for us. What did we do in Leipzig? A whole lot!
Because for us, a trade fair means weeks of preparation, countless to-dos, many employees on site and a common goal. Namely, to get the best out of the trade fair.
Anyone who only thinks of four days on site at a trade fair has not yet seen the majority of the work involved. Weeks before the start, our preparations were in full swing: stand areas were planned, event formats organized, materials packed, countless agreements made and appointments arranged - all with the aim of making our presence smooth, visible and inviting.
Two stands, many points of contact
This year, we were once again represented with a large joint Group stand and the Livro joint exhibition for small and self-publishers in Hall 5. Both stands were central points of contact for discussions and questions about books, our products, services and work in the industry.
For our sales teams, the trade fair is traditionally a good opportunity to meet customers and partners in person - many conversations were planned in advance, some were spontaneous. This is exactly what makes everyday trade fair life so special: you get to talk, listen carefully to what moves the industry, make new connections and go home with fresh inspiration.
Marketing, PR & editing in live mode
Our colleagues from Marketing and PR were in constant action during the trade fair: equipped with cameras and notepads, they captured all the important moments, shared impressions live on our channels and attended their own events. At the same time, they took the opportunity to network with industry contacts and ensure our presence in external media. The Börsenblatt editorial team was also in the thick of the action: It conducted interviews, took part in panels and reported directly from the spot on current trends, important debates and exciting encounters.
Focus on young talent: the career day
A special highlight was the Book and Media Career Day on Friday, organized by the Börsenverein's Vocational Training department: school pupils, students, trainees, interns and many young professionals came to find out about career opportunities in the book and media industry. There were presentations, panels and personal discussions - with players from publishing houses, bookshops and service companies. The crowds were large, the atmosphere open and interested - a day that showed how important it is to exchange ideas at eye level.
Books, beats and encounters: Meet & Dance
With our Meet & Dance events, we put favorite books in the spotlight in a speed-dating atmosphere - and combined the whole thing with music and dance. Bloggers presented their novelty highlights before the stand was transformed into a dance floor at the Silent Disco. A highlight not only for the colleagues who organized and ran it, but also for all the book people who took part.
In the thick of it together
Four days at the trade fair - that means lots of exciting discussions, inspiring encounters and sometimes little sleep. We took a lot of new impulses and input home with us. The trade fair was another special experience that also brought us closer together as a team and sometimes felt like a school trip. Now we are letting the fair sink in and are secretly looking forward to the Frankfurt Book Fair in the fall.
