#fbm24: This was our Frankfurter Buchmesse

Time for a look back at the industry event of the year - the Frankfurter Buchmesse. For us as a group of companies, it is the biggest and sometimes most important event of the year. All our companies are involved in different ways. Our HR team was also in the thick of it again. Our colleagues from HR, Valeska and Maren, report from their time on site.

New this year, on the Saturday of the fair, was the focus on careers in the book industry. Especially in Hall 4.0, where we were present with the Börsenvereinsgruppe stand. Reason enough for us to be there again with our team and get involved. We used the day to provide insights into the group of companies and show what makes us stand out as an employer. Above all, we were delighted to be able to talk to people who love books, reading and trade fairs.

Our day started at the Frankfurter Buchmesse Campus Weekend, where we used the stage to talk to colleagues from different parts of the company. Especially about their individual paths into the book industry and finally joining Group. We also got to talk about what has inspired our colleagues about their work and the companies, some of whom have been with us for decades, and what tips they can give newcomers along the way.

It was a successful event and we were very pleased about the great interest and many occupied chairs in the audience. Above all, we very happy about the lively exchange and smart questions after the event.

Afterwards, we went straight on to the MVB exchange. Together with our colleague Johannes, Head of medien.jobs, we used this format on the topic of “Applying optimally for a new job” twice during the day. We talked to young career starters about what they value in an application process. Afterwards, we reviewed the application documents they had brought with them and were able to give them numerous tips from an employer's perspective.

After a short break and a detour to Hall 3.0 to have a look around and browse the publishers' stands, we continued with our career mission. Our colleagues from the Börsenverein organized test job interviews at the job board in Hall 4.0. Applicants were able to book a slot with us. We had a very good and positive interview with a prospective applicant for a fictional position in the industry and were able to give her a good feeling for future applications.

For us, the day was very exciting and informative and, above all, a lot of fun. Thanks to everyone who took part, we are already looking forward to next year.
